Sat 29 Nov AFTERGLOW TWILIGHT-NIGHT TRAIL HALF MARATHON (VIC)
Australia's only night time trail half marathon! Held on the Surf Coast, an hour south west of Melbourne, Victoria, Afterglow starts out in the twilight glow of the final days of Spring, treading into the Surf Coast's Ironbark forest and quickly into the pitch of night, taking on the darkness with trails lit only by headlamps (and glow sticks). The unique event will finish with a carnival-like atmosphere with live retro music including a saxophonist playing on course, drummers on course, a DJ at the finish and 'glow-themed' entertainers. Afterglow is also being held in support of beyondblue, a not-for-profit organisation that tackles the issues of depression and anxiety.Runners are being encouraged to wear anything that glows or is fluoro - or just bright and bad taste in general - in the spirit of the event's name, and also with reference to a charitable aim of shining a light on issues relating to depression and anxiety.  contact: Chris Ord. email: chris@tourdetrails.com. Visit the website for more details. Click here for an entryform.

Mon 26 Jan KNAPSACK LAP RACE - 3HR/6HR (NSW)
We are celebrating Australia Day this year with a bush run with a difference. A 5km loop course around Knapsack Park, Glenbrook. The course has a mixture of single track, fire trail, descents, climbs and two lookouts. Solo runners, pairs relays and teams relays of up to four categories are available to suit all runners. Get a bunch of mates together and come up and make a day of it. Have a run and then sit back, enjoy the company, have a cold drink and watch others do the running. Starting out of the leafy surrounds of sleepy Knapsack Oval and taking in the sights of this largely unknown running reserve (well Mtb I suppose officially). The Knapsack Lap Race will provide single track, open fire trail, ridge lines, gullys and tremendous views from the Marges and Elizabeth Lookouts. All in a tidy 5km circuit. The event offers opportunities for solo runners and relay teams. With time frames of 3hrs and 6hrs to choose from. Run as many or as few laps as you want, but most importantly dont miss the most enjoyable Australia Day event going round in running circles (literally).  contact: Running Wild. email: runningwildnsw@gmail.com. Visit the website for more details. Click here for an entryform.

?? WOODFORD DAM 19KM (TO BE CONFIRMED) (NSW)
The trails around Woodford Dam have been virtually unknown to the public, being locked away as Catchment land beyond public access for many decades until a few years ago. Steep trails through quiet valleys appealed as a perfect venue for the Running Wild series. The course mixed in hills and water- following the edge of the dam and passing several quiet waterfalls with four big hills and corresponding downhills. contact: Running Wild. email: runningwildnsw@gmail.com. Visit the website for more details. Click here for an entryform.
